Privacy Policy for Sort-It.pro
Last updated: April 19, 2025
This privacy policy describes how Sort-It.pro (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information. We respect your privacy and are committed to safeguarding your data.
1. Information We Collect
- Personally Identifiable Information (PII): Only the information you explicitly provide when opting into cloud backup or sharing features—namely your email address. Used to authenticate you via OAuth2 and associate saved workspace configurations with your account.
- Tab Metadata & Usage Information: URLs, page titles, domain names, and timestamps of your open tabs, as well as extension interactions (e.g., grouping commands). Enables core features like automatic grouping and real-time side panel updates.
- Web History: A list of the tabs you open while using the extension, including URL and visit time. Powers rule-based workflows and workspace reconstruction on restart.
- Location: We do not collect GPS coordinates or precise location data. At most, your IP address is used by Google’s backend services for routing; we never store it.
- User Activity Beyond Tabs: We do not perform network monitoring, keystroke logging, or capture cursor movements outside of explicit extension interactions.
2. How We Use Your Data
Primary Purpose: Provide and improve the extension’s tab-management functionality (grouping, sorting, and restoring your workspace). Optional Features: Backup and restore your settings to/from our secure server when you opt into cloud sync. We do not use or transfer your data for any purposes unrelated to this single purpose, nor for creditworthiness, lending, marketing, or profiling.
3. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or transfer your information to third parties. Data is only shared with our trusted backend services when you explicitly enable cloud sync. We never share data for advertising, analytics, or other external uses.
4. Data Security
All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS. Locally stored data resides in chrome.storage.sync
and is encrypted by Chrome. Access to your cloud-stored data requires your OAuth2 token.
5. Your Choices
- Disable Cloud Sync: You may opt out of identity-based features at any time; core functionality remains fully local.
- Data Deletion: Uninstalling the extension clears all locally stored data. To delete cloud backups, contact us at privacy@Sort-It.pro.
6. Changes & Contact
We may update this policy. When we do, we’ll post a new “Last updated” date. For questions or data-deletion requests, please contact us at privacy@Sort-It.pro.
